Taxes

VAT and taxes on your host earnings

Withlocals provides services to you as a host, which means you are our legal customer in these transactions. We’ll issue invoices directly to you that include our company details and any applicable taxes.

As a host, you’re responsible for giving your guest any documentation or invoice that’s required under local tax laws.

VAT is charged on the Withlocals service fee for each reservation. If a booking changes, the VAT amount will update automatically based on the new service fee.

Depending on where you live and where your experience takes place, you may also need to charge VAT or other local taxes (like sales or occupancy taxes) on the services you provide to guests.

It’s your responsibility to follow your local tax rules. This can include VAT, sales taxes, surcharges, or personal/corporate income taxes on bookings made through Withlocals. If you’re not sure about your obligations, we recommend reaching out to a local tax advisor.
