As the Withlocals host community continues to grow worldwide, keeping both you and your guests safe is our top priority. To help us do this, and to make sure your payouts are processed securely, we work with Stripe, a trusted third-party provider, to verify your identity.
Why ID verification is required
- Safety first – ID checks help create a safe and trusted environment for everyone;
- Secure payouts – Verification is needed to process your payments through Stripe;
- Data protection – Your information is safe with us. We never share it with third parties unless legally required (for example, in case of a reported incident);
If your ID verification fails
After you upload your ID, Stripe runs an automated check to confirm that your document is valid and meets security standards. If your verification isn’t successful, you’ll be able to try again after 24 hours.
Please note: Your guiding license can’t be used as a valid proof of identity.
Important to know
It’s not possible to bypass this verification manually. Every host must complete this step in order to start or continue hosting and receive payouts.
