What we expect from you as a host
Passionate hosts are the heart of Withlocals. Guests choose you not just for your knowledge, but because you can make their trip truly memorable. To help you deliver the best experiences, here’s what we expect:
Create authentic experiences
Your profile should accurately represent you and your experiences. Share your unique perspective and hidden gems. Give guests access to places or stories they wouldn’t find on their own. Remember: you play a key role in shaping their memories of your city.
Be prepared and professional
Know your topics in depth, extra research makes a big difference. Present yourself in a professional and hygienic way. Communicate politely and respectfully with both guests and Withlocals. Never smoke or engage in inappropriate behavior during an experience.
Respect your guests and your bookings
Be on time. A booking is a commitment. Being late, cancelling last-minute, or not showing up without a valid reason is unacceptable. If changes are needed to the route or plan, communicate clearly and make sure guests are comfortable with it. Be available to answer questions and reassure guests before and during the experience.
Stay inclusive and mindful
Pay attention to the needs of specific groups (elderly, children, people with disabilities). Respect cultural differences and avoid stereotypes. Use inclusive language—avoid jokes or remarks that could be misunderstood. Adapt when needed (for example, dietary, religious, or accessibility needs). Be curious and supportive. Encourage guests to share their own perspectives too.
Important: If you don’t follow these standards, we may decide to suspend or deactivate your account.
